Pier 6 Sand Volleyball Courts
Three regulation-size sand volleyball courts are available for public use as part of Pier 6's new 1.8 acre section. Featuring professional net systems with in-ground poles, along with spectacular lighting for night play and sweeping views of the New York Harbor, the courts have been very popular with park visitors.
There are currently four ways to enjoy use of the volleyball courts:
- Walk-up Play
Two of the three courts are available for walk-up play during park hours, 6:00am-10:00pm daily. Remember to bring your volleyball! - League Play
Two evenings a week and one weekend day a month, Metro Beach Sports will organize adult recreational volleyball leagues on the Pier 6 courts. The fees charged for teams to play will underwrite the cost of providing camp programming and free public clinics, as well as provide funding for court maintenance. For more information and to join a league, visit www.metrobeachsports.com. - Permit Reservations
A limited number of courts are available for reservation each week. For more information or to make a reservation, please visit the reservation page. Please note, you may only make three reservations per season. - Public Clinics
Free public skills clinics for children and adults will be offered four times per week. The clinics will feature instructors who will review the fundamentals of beach volleyball, as well as teach more advanced techniques, including setting, spiking, passing and ball control, and diving and rolling drills. Visit the Calendar of Events to see the schedule of upcoming clinics.
Please email volleyball@bbpc.net with any questions or concerns regarding use of the courts.
